The words we use, both verbally and non-verbally (in our thoughts), make a huge difference in shaping our life and our reality. Taking the time and care to choose what we say can pay off in how we feel, how we cope, and what we believe is possible.
Words carry a vibration just like everything else in our world. Words are energy and changing our thoughts can change our life. Our thoughts create our perspective and shape every reaction or response to the world around us.
In The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, the first agreement is Be impeccable with your word. “Being impeccable with your word is the correct use of energy; it means to use your energy in the direction of truth and love for yourself.” Ruiz goes on to say that being impeccable with our word can act as protection against being affected by negative things others say, as the ‘garden’ of the mind will only be fertile for what it has been prepped to accept.
Dr. Masaru Emoto was a Japanese researcher who explored the effects of words on water molecules. His book, The Miracle of Water, highlights the work he did in exposing water samples to different intentions by labeling the samples with words. Some of the words were kind in intention, such as ‘love’, ‘gratitude’, ‘hope’, and some of the words or phrases were unkind, such as ‘hopeless’, ‘hate’, ‘you’re no good’. The labeled samples were then frozen and examined under a microscope. Upon examination, the samples showed that the crystals formed were either beautiful or ‘unsightly’ depending on the words that were used. “The energy of the words is reflected in the formation of crystals.” (Emoto 2007)
Emoto reported that he believed “Love and Gratitude” (labeled below as Love and Appreciation) formed the most beautiful pattern. There are many photos in the book displayed what you see below. That the positive intentions formed symmetrical, beautiful shapes and the negative intentions had no shape or order.
Here are a few examples of the water crystal formations:

There is a great deal of proof showing that negative people typically suffer from more illness and pain than more optimistic and positive thinking people. There are also reports of people becoming healthier and even “miraculously” healing from severe illness through the use of laughter, positive attitude, and affirmations.
Emoto goes on to say that “since our bodies consist of 70% water, we can infer from the crystals that the water within us also contains the energy of [our] words.“
If labeling samples of drinking water with positive and negative intention can have such a powerful effect on the shape of those water molecules, imagine what effect our thoughts are having on the water in our own bodies! Redirecting our thoughts to loving, kind, and grateful intentions could shift how our bodies feel, heal, and perform. We are creating the mind and body that we live in.
This week, begin to notice what words you are “saying” to yourself- about your life, your body, your relationships, your worth. It’s time to raise the vibration. Your water is listening. What are you going to say to it today?
And remember that every day is different and some days it will be easier to say nice words than others. Placing a label on your water bottle like Emoto did could be a helpful option as well. Just keep practicing and know that I will be practicing right along with you.
Talk again soon,
k
Well done, Ms Kelly
